"Fall Days" for Solo Piano

$100.00

Generally, Fall/autumn in Persian (Farsi) literature is an analogy for loss, tearing apart, the season of separation.

Personally, to me Fall means a lot.

It means in the fall of 2021 the fall and collapse of my country to the wild and inhuman Taliban who rushed to Kabul like zombies. It means Fall of 2022 when I moved to the United States with an opportunity to study and dig deeper into music with a heart wounded, to explore a new world and widen my knowledge, with the feeling of loss still with me. Fall is the time when I met so many wonderful people who became my dear friends, including Nicoleta.

Fall of 2023, where every day began with hearing harsh news from Afghanistan that would shape my day due to the imposition inhumane and ridiculous laws on women by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

And fall of 2024 here I am standing in front of you presenting this statement to you.

I completed this work with the leaves of Fall falling on the ground. Yet, there are still so many remaining on the trees because some persist against the winter, some are simply winter trees (like Evergreen) that can outlast the long and dark nights and transform in the spring, welcoming the birds to come out to perform their cherished songs with their beautiful melodies bringing the dawn breeze and warmth of sunrise to the heart of every home. A time when we should embrace nature and each other to resist the horrendous thunder.

INSTRUMENTATION: Piano
